Finally got hold of Earthlink support today after several attempts using Skype. As I suspected, the order for the transfer
of files from this free site to my new website is in line to be done. The holidays have slowed things down and again I was
assured everything would be transfered soon. But at least now I have a Case Number that I can refer to if I need to call them
back.
Not much going on today. The temperature is the low 90's and not much breeze so it's a little uncomfortable. More RVers
have arrived in the park which is keeping Sandy and Cynthia busy.
We always put the pup's flea medicine on them the first of the month and they're not supposed to get wet for a day or
two so no beach today.

The pesos were getting low again so it was time to take a trip to Aquila and the ATM. One thing about having to drive
about 15 miles to an ATM plus the fact that you can't use a credit card anywhere around here -- you tend to spend less money.
The rest of the day was spent just laying around reading. The weather remains warm and sunny and tomorrow will be beach
day again with the pups.

Beautiful weather today sunny with a little breeze and the temperature in the low 80's. We spent the morning down at the
beach with the pups although Ken and Mary-Beth's dog Brandie had to stay home as the incision from her surgery hasn't completely
healed yet.
One of the other guests at the park has a standard poodle but when she was brought to the beach to play with the other
dogs she wouldn't go in the water.
The afternoon was a time to relax (siesta time)with plans to go to town for our Friday night tacos. Just as we were leaving
for town, another new arrival from Ontario drove into the park with their 5th wheel. The park is starting to fill up.
January 5 & 6, 2008
We spent most of the day cleaning the motorhome. With the red dirt, gravel roads and wet dogs things get dirty pretty
fast. Saturday night Cynthia had a salmon dinner at the park's restaurant where there were celebrations over Canada's world
hockey win.
The weather is still perfect and the pups are still enjoying the beach.
Sandy is staying busy with new people arriving plus trying to get each of the sites completed with concrete pads.
We didn't go to the Sunday market today as we're planning a little road trip sometime during the week and don't want things
left in the fridge while we're gone.

Most of the day today was spent on the phone (Skype) with Earthlink trying to get an answer to my request to get my Blog
files transfered from the free Earthlink service to my new Website. If you remember, the free Blog service at Earthlink has
a limited disk space and data transfer each month and the number of hits on my Blog maxed it out before Christmas.
Finally getting past the initial tech people at Earthlink I was able to talk to a supervisor who apologized and explained
that the department responsible for my request was behind in their work. He was willing however to install a temporary link
between the new website url and the old free service blog although I would not be able to upgrade from the new website. I
would have to update the site through the old free blog site.
After agreeing to this I gave them a while to make the link and then when I tried it, the link transferred me to an old
webpage of mine that I was attempting to build about five years ago.
So.. back on the phone to Earthlink and fortunately was able to talk to a tech person who deleted the old 5 year old site
and made the link to the correct blog. The only problem that I found was that some of my pictures did not transfer but I could
reload them.
So.. for those who are interested the address of my new website is
www.rvroadadventures.com/mexicotrip20072008/
This afternoon, Ken and Mary-Beth's veterinarian came and took Brandie's stitches out from her surgery last week. He gave
her a clean bill of health including permission to go to the beach. So that's where all four dogs and their owners will be
tomorrow.

As you probably notice, I am still having problems with my website which prevents me from posting any pictures. This includes
reposting the ones that were wiped out when Earthlink established a link between my new site and my old blog. -- Hopefully
they fix it soon.
Diane and I drove to Colima today mainly to stock up with food and related items at Sams. Its about 70 miles from the
RV park to Sams and a relatively easy drive. We were able to buy most of the things on our list plus a few things that we
just couldn't do without.
On our way there just before Colima we passed a road-side store that had a lot of hand made metal figurines out side and
decided we'd stop in on the way back. We did and found a store with not only many metal figures but inside a large area of
exceptional wood furniture. We ended up buying a hand made metal rooster that stands about 18 inches high. It'll be a nice
addition in our Texas home.
We also took a little side trip to a little fishing village called Apiza on the Colima and Michoacan state border where
we bought a whole fish weighing about 15 pounds. We had it filleted by the fisherman and then stopped at a local beach side
restaurant for a late lunch before heading home.
Ken and Mary-Beth looked after the pups while we were gone and jumped up and down when greeting us.

Good News... Earthlink has finally gotten my website straightened out. Now all the pictures are up and I can add new ones.
I was also able to put a link from my old blog to the new web address. For those of you who follow along, please remember
to update your bookmarks or favorites.
Today was moving day for Ken and Mary-Beth. They have been having a large site made for them on the other side of the
park. It gives them much more room and although no longer beside us, they're still in walking distance in order to share a
before supper drink.
Cynthia has been taking her parents around introducing them to everyone. They seem quite proud of their daughter and son-in-law.
Although having described the park in the blog I haven't published many pictures so I'm going to start taking candid shots
for people to see. I think I'll start off with one of our site taken tonight (you can see the famous green metal rooster we
bought in Colima) and a picture of the park's highway sign. Remember to click on the pictures to enlarge.

This morning it was beach day for the pups and exercise for Ken and I walking along the beach while the dogs play and
run. We have to limit their time at the beach to every second day as they tend to get diarrhea from drinking the salt water.
Leo had gotten several mats in his hair so we decided to give him a haircut in the afternoon after he'd dried off from
being at the beach. Fortunately we have a good pair of grooming clippers we borrowed from our neighbor in Livingston. (thanks
Randy) As it takes us all afternoon to do one dog, Hayley's turn is tomorrow.
This is Friday, so Ken & Mary-Beth and another couple Terry and Sharron joined us for taco night in La Placita.
January 12, 2008
Today was haircut/grooming day for Hayley. After you spend the day giving a haircut to your dog who would really rather
be doing something else, you begin to understand why professional groomers charge $50.00 per dog. But now both Leo and Hayley
look good with short hair that will be cooler for them and hopefully less prone to pick up burrs.
Sandy had his Spanish for Gringos class at noon and all of us at the park are struggling to increase our knowledge.
In the afternoon Ken and Mary-Beth came over for drinks and we brought out the maps and discussed a little trip that we
plan on taking on Tuesday next week. We'll load the pups in our two cars and head south on highway 200 to see what's around
the next bend and over the next hill. There's no real plan except that we'll be gone for two or three days.
Cynthia's Saturday night dinner featured giant shrimp on rice which everyone enjoyed. The bakery truck was a little late
today arriving in the middle of the shrimp dinner but we still took time to buy a few goodies.

Ken and I drove to Aquila this morning to visit the ATM in order to get pesos for our upcoming road trip on Tuesday. We
had never been to Aquila on Sunday and discovered that the town had an outdoor market on several streets near the town square.
As the ATM is directly across from the square, we had to park several blocks away and walk to it. After getting our pesos
at the ATM, we walked through the market and found that there was very little in the way of fruit and vegetables with most
of the vendors selling clothes, toys and other non-perishable items.
When we returned to the park, the pups were wanting to get their time in at the beach, so the four of us, Ken & Mary-Beth
and Diane and I took the four dogs for a good long walk and play session.
I spent a good portion of the afternoon working on this blog as for some reason, some of the pictures delete themselves.
Also adding to the fustration, my two poor old laptops are starting to fall apart as well. I can only do some things on one
and some other things on the second one. I think when we get back to Texas it will be time to go shopping for a new one.
For supper I cooked up some of the fish I bought a couple of days ago at a fishing village near here. It was delicious.
Nothing like fresh fish.

After spending several frustrating hours trying to solve the problem of the Blog's disappearing pictures, I'm no further
ahead than when I started. I gave up today, deciding to call Earthlink later in the week when we return from our road trip.
The rest of the day we gathered things to take with us and making the motorhome secure during the time we'll be gone.
Lights were taken down, chairs put away and the awning brought in. All this in case it storms which is a pretty remote possibility
seeing that the temperature is still in the mid 80's during the day with sunny skies.
This afternoon a new motorhome drove in and became the park's visitor from furthest away. All the way from Newfoundland
and making a coastal loop of Mexico.
Remember.. There won't be any posts on the Blog for several days while we're on the road trip south. I'll take lots of
pictures and if Blog's picture problem gets solved, I'll post them when I return. In any event, the narrative portion will
continue.
UPDATE.. Thought I'd take one last stab at contacting Earthlink and was able to talk to someone who did some magic and
as you can see, the pictures are working again.
