Travelled 322 miles today. Motorhome is running good and Leo is making like a vicious junk yard dog standing on the dash
and barking at everyone each time we stop. We actually made it off from home at a reasonable hour (8:45am). Lots of fog this
morning in Livingston but it cleared up by the time we were a few miles south on highway 59.
Nothing of interest on the trip so far except that west of Houston, a truck went past and threw up a stone. So now there's
another chip in the windshield. And this is just after I had another one fixed during October Fest.
Spending the night at a Texas road side rest area just west of Comfort, Texas.

Finally got the datastorm map location program working so folks can see we got to about 125 east of El Paso today. The
weather was great and we made 370 miles. We should get through Texas and New Mexico tomorrow.
The pups had the worst time today as whenever we stopped for a pup-potty-break their feet got full of little burrs and
stickers when they walked in the grass. We have to keep them either on the pavement or gravel. I had to carry Leo back to
the motorhome today as he refused to walk across a small strip of grass. (and he now weighs 74 pounds)
As we only need a place to park at night we're taking advantage of the state rest areas. Our solar panels keep our batteries
charged.

We made good time today driving 383 miles ending up about 70 miles east of Tucson. We'll be there tomorrow morning if
nothing goes wrong. We'll be meeting our friends Ken and Mary-Beth and their two dogs at the Catalina State Park.
Still great weather but getting a little cool in the night as we're over 4,000 feet elevation.
We had a little mis-hap that I discovered last night. In our Jeep tow vehicle you have to turn the ignition key one notch
so that the steering wheel is unlocked while towing. I turned the key two notches turning the ignition on. It was like that
all day and drained the battery. Fortunately I brought my battery charger and was able to do a re-charge.
Leo got in trouble for eating the corner off a cushion.

Slept in a bit this morning and after breakfast gave the pups their monthly flea/tick medication. We made good time until
we got to Tucson and ran into a major construction project on highway 10 right across the city.
Found Catalina State Park north of Tucson with no problem and registered for two nights. We found our friend's motorhome
in the park and parked across from them. They were gone, probably to their daughter's home in Tucson and we'll see them later
today when they return.
Not sure what the temperature is but its kind of warm so on went the air conditioning. Everyone enjoys the cool.
We'll be here until Monday when we drive to a casino south of Tucson to spend the night and then cross the border early
Tuesday. Much easier than driving through the Tucson construction zone with early morning traffic.

November 6th & 7th, 2007
Spent the day on Sunday relaxing and doing a few chores like washing the windshield and front of the motorhome. You get
lots of bugs on a large surface area going down the highway.
On Sunday night we were invited to dinner by Ken and Mary-Beth's daughter. They have a large and beautiful home near Tucson
and close by the park we were staying at. They also wanted to see our Portuguese Water Dogs they had heard so much about.
When we arrived and brought the pups out to their back yard, Leo and Hayley thought it was great as they discovered the pool
and jumped right in. Surprisingly the hosts didn't mind so the pups really enjoyed themselves.
On Monday we did last minute things and after lunch headed out on the way to Nogales. We stopped at the Desert Diamond
Casino about 40 miles from the border to spend the night so that we'd have an early start in the morning. Hopefully there
won't be a big line up at the border and the whole process of getting our visas and vehicle permits won't take too long. Although
there is about a dozen or more RVs in the casino parking lot that acts as a jump-off point for people heading south of the
border.
