Another lazy day in paradise. I spent the morning trying to get my Skype (internet telephone) to work but without much luck. I think I may have something wrong with my laptop.
After lunch the pups (especially Leo) made it quite clear that I'd been sitting around too long today and demanded that they be taken to the beach. They're going to miss playing in the water when we return to Texas.
Cynthia the owner served a pork and tamale dinner at the park restaurant that everyone in the park enjoyed.
Tomorrow is "market day" in El Ranchito so we'll be stocking up on fruit and veggi's and any other little thing that we just can't live without.

While taking the pups out for their morning walk I was disappointed to discover the right front tire of the Jeep was flat. It was ok yesterday when we drove down the hill to the beach but flat this morning. I learned later today that Sandy, the park owner found out that a neighbor who owns a coconut plantation below the park put boards with nails on the road to stop people from stealing his coconuts. Sandy was quite upset as its his and Cynthia's road.
Fortunately my spare was good and it was easy to change the tire. I'll take the flat into town tomorrow to get it fixed.
The four of us went in Ken's car to the market in El Ranchito but stopped before getting there to have a nice breakfast in a fancy hotel on the beach in San Juan De Alima. We all chuckled when Ken asked for extra strong coffee and the waiter brought him hot water and a jar of instant coffee so he could make his own.
We stocked up on fruit vegetables and eggs at the market and when I was asking one vendor if he had a small mallet to tenderize meet, he thought I wanted to hit flies and tried to sell me a fly swatter.
It was hot today, over 90 degrees so when we came back from the market we stayed inside with a book to read and the air conditioning going.
The fish we bought the other day at El Faro went on the bbq with some of the veggis we bought today.

Not much to report today. Sandy took the flat tire into town but the repair guy wasn't available. He'll take it in later.
Most of the day was spent sitting in the lounge chair and reading. I'm glad I bought a box of books and Mary-Beth brought a lot too so we should be ok for reading material until we leave.
BBQ'd some great ribs that Ken and I bought in La Penita when we were up there last week.
Plans are to go to El Faro beach tomorrow.

After breakfast I drove into town to the Pemex station to get some air in the spare tire that I decided to use rather than put the one on that I had run over the nail with. The spare has lots of tread but could use a little air to bring it up to the 40 pounds I carry in the other tires.
Later in the morning we headed off to our favorite beach at El Faro.
Before getting there we stopped at another little beach where new building was taking place and saw workers making a thatch roof.
We had plans to buy some more fish at El Faro but none was available so the eight of us (four people + four dogs} had to content ourselves with having fun by playing in the water. We ate at a different restaurant than we had before and all agreed that it was not as good as the first one.
Fortunately when we arrived back at the park we only had a short wait until it was time to head to the park restaurant where Cynthia was serving a great meal of raviolis and fish.

This morning we drove to Tecoman the largest city to us which is about an hour away. Tecoman is to the north and in the neighboring state of Colima. As typical at state borders in Mexico there's a military check point. The soldiers at this particular check point are mainly on the lookout for drugs. Today we were flagged over for an inspection but once they learned we were just going to the Walmart in Tecoman we were waved on.
The Walmart in Tecoman is called a Bodega and you don't see any indication of it being a Walmart until you're inside and see a Walmart name badge on each employee.
On the way home we stopped at a garden nursery where Diane bought a kind of cactus to plant beside the patio.
During the day a local contractor had been bring truck loads of gravel to put in each rv site. We'll find out tomorrow if he's coming back with a tractor to spread the gravel and if so, we'll have to move the motorhome so it can be done.

Another day of taking it easy. Ken and Mary-Beth went into Tecoman to do some shopping so I looked after their two dogs.
Sandy, the park owner had scheduled a backhoe to come and spread gravel on the rv sites but apparently it had some mechanical problems which has to be fixed first.
Cynthia served chicken tacos tonight at the park restaurant and everyone left happy and stuffed.
Tomorrow we decided we'd return to our favorite beach, El Faro to play in the water and maybe buy some fresh fish from the local fishermen if its available.

December 7, 2007
We had planned on going to the beach at El Faro today but in the morning the backhoe showed up to spread gravel in the rv sites. That meant we had to move the motorhome while the gravel was spread in our site.
By the time it was finished and we were back in place in our site it was getting late so we decided to postpone El Faro until tomorrow.
We still wanted to give the pups a run so we took them down to the beach below the rv park. The waves have been really high for the past couple of days so we made sure they didn't get out very far in the surf because of possible undertows.
The propane delivery truck was scheduled to come to the park today but there was no sign of him. Fortunately we still have about a third of a tank of propane left.
